LEGAZPI CITY, 04 February 2011 – Lately, Bicol Region experienced torrential rainfall for a long period of time. This phenomenon brought disaster and left a tremendous amount of damage to the province. Climate change has already taken its toll and is up for more. This is the result of our mismanagement on mother Earth. The warming of our seas, that caused the ice caps to melt, extreme draught, and heavier rainfalls have been affecting different parts of the world. The result is inevitable, but we can delay the outcome of consequences and possibly stop it.
LEGAZPI CITY, January 20 2011- The aerial reconnaissance of the missing fishermen had been terminated by Gov Edgardo Tallado of Camarines Norte. It was lifted on 3pm Thursday, 20 January 2011. The Search and Rescue had been shifted to local efforts by the province of Cam Norte. Governor Tallado said during their meeting with Dir Alejandro (OCD5). The decision came through despite decisive efforts by PN Islander and local DRRM Camarines Norte’s assets to locate missing fishermen. The Chairman, PDRRMC Camarines Norte thanked the Philippine Navy for the prompt response to their request for air assets to assist the search and rescue operations for the missing fishermen in the province.
NAVY SET-UP ADVANCE COMMAND POST TO SUPPORT CAM NORTE DISASTER EFFORT
LEGAZPI CITY, January 19 2011- Naval Forces Southern Luzon established an Advance Command Post in Daet, Camarines, Norte on Tuesday, 18 January 2011. The Command Post will facilitate coordination with different DRRMC’s and provide support to deployed operating units in the area. The ACP will also serve as the liaison of NFSL in the area and support any necessary operations of the local DRRMC’s. The ACP is composed of one Disaster Response Team augmented by a team of divers from the Naval Special Operations Unit 3 on standby alert to provide assistance as necessary. The ACP also serves as advance support to NFSL assets deployed to support SAR operations in the province. Currently, the Navy dispatched one (1) PN134 Islander for the aerial recon of missing fishermen.
LEGAZPI CITY, January 28 2011 – Philippine Navy will participate on the celebration of the National Dental Health Month this February on 31 January 2011 at Legazpi city, Albay. The theme for this year’s NDHM is “Ngipin Kayamanan, Pagkasira Huwag Hayaan, Dentistang Mapagkalinga, Handa kang Gabayan.” In support to the celebration, the Navy will send in their dental team to participate on the free dental check-up and treatments to two selected barangays namely Bigaa and San Roque.

Almost four hundred thirty three (433) families in the area had benefited from the free medical and dental care and check-up.
